Black Money, Black Power

Raised in poverty, Aston Paige came to realize his vision of the American Dream, a life filled with money, women, and drugs. Aston is young, black, and educated with the kind of looks that turn heads. While relatively small, his lobbying firm is one of the most sought-after on capitol hill.

Barely in his thirties, he has already mastered the complex game of Washington politics, and his slew of extravagant toys is proof. His jet set lifestyle has rendered him deaf to the charges of being a sellout and an Uncle Tom.

To keep the bookies off his back, Aston takes on a new client against his better judgement. Nothing is what it seems and soon his perfect world comes crashing down around him. He finds himself framed for a murder and a pawn in a high-stakes game of chess.

The focus of a manhunt, Aston is forced to take a woman hostage, Florence Wilks. Flo is a soulful beauty and a community crusader and different from Aston in almost every respect. Despite their differences, their hearts soon beat as one.

With the police on his heels and time running out, Aston stumbles upon a government secret stretching back to Reconstruction. That secret knowledge has already cost one man his life, and Aston is doing all he can to avoid being the next.

Once a self-absorbed and money-driven hustler, he is slowly transformed. Determined to take on the power elite, Aston devises a brilliant but dangerous plan that could alter the fate of black America. To make it work, he partners with Shaka, a close friend of Flo’s, who is an ex-con turned black militant.

Applying his unique talents, he is able to leverage the information into a federally chartered bank. But, in order to acquire the start-up capital, he must descend into Washington’s dangerous criminal underworld. Striking a deal with three of the city’s deadliest drug traffickers, he taps into millions in dirty dollars.

The brokering skills he cultivated as a lobbyist serve him well on the streets. It is not long before he’s reigning over a vast criminal empire and controlling the nation’s fifth largest bank. But, with great power comes powerful enemies.

When he turns down a seat at the high table and instead uses his extraordinary wealth to help his people, he makes enemies of some of the most powerful men in the world. The question is, will this master of the game survive long enough to change the game.
